It’s summer. It’s hot. You’re sweating. I’m sweating. We’re all perspiring in one big, hot bubble of heat together. The strategy to beat when it comes to staying sweat-free is linen. It’s my fabric of choice for the hot summer months because it’s breathable, easy to wear and cool. After all, the material has been used for that purpose since ancient times.
There’s a reason why linen has been worn for millennia: It’s scientifically proven to be a cooler fabric than cotton or silk. Silk retains heat, while cotton tends to fall closely to the body, meaning you’re in for a sweaty day if you choose either. Linen has a high moisture absorptivity and relative stiffness. The former property absorbs sweat and the latter makes it detach from human skin, creating spaces between human body and clothing for ventilative cooling.
Wearing linen is the ultimate in everyday luxury during the warm months and today I’m sharing 3 summer dresses I’ve been wearing on the repeat.
How To Style Linen Dresses This Summer
I absolutely love this first linen dress from Reformation. In fact, I am so obsessed with it, I bought it in two colors…tuscan sun and blue mineral. The sack dress silhouette is uber comfortable and it can be worn very casually for everyday or dressed up for a night time soiree. Note…it’s not bra friendly.
We love this dress for day or night and any vacation to a warm destination!
I’ve styled both with my French Kande Jewelry and especially adore draping the necklace down my back for an unexpected look.

Upgrade your summer capsule wardrobe with me! I recently discovered Grae Cove and have fallen in love with how affordable, stylish, and breathable all their linen pieces are. In fact, most of their linen dresses are under $70 and they’ve got fabulous tops, bottoms and bedding. We love the Maddie Dress for Sunday brunch or cocktails. It’s equally effortless and cool.
I also own the Ainsley & Paige Dresses as well as the Reyna Wrap Waist Pants and Dillon Cover Up Shirt.

If you want to wear the ultimate in luxury linen, look no further than Frank & Eileen. Not only do they make the most fabulous ‘lived in’ linen button-ups, but the Rory is everything we ever wanted in a full-length, button-up dress. A long, lean, and lovely silhouette elongates your torso and feels extra-airy, She comes in 7 fabulous colors! While Frank & Eileen is a little bit of a splurge, in my opinion the brand is worth every penny.
