Cabana Life 4th of July Sale
It’s no secret that I’m a beach loving, sunny day kind of girl. As much as I love the warmth of the sun and sound of the ocean, I’m a fanatic about protecting my midlife skin from those harmful rays. Sunscreen just isn’t enough to protect our skin and re-application can sometimes be bothersome when we get busy enjoying our time outside. Enter UPF sun protection clothing…a game changer that adds an extra layer of protection over our skin. My favorite UPF 50+ clothing brand, Cabana Life, combines fashion with sun protection in darling styles you’ll love wearing all season long.
Just in time for the sunny months ahead, Cabana Life is having a 4th of July Sale where you can 20% off site wide with code: SPARKS (valid 6/29-7/5)…some exclusions apply.
Today I’m sharing some new summer drops from Cabana Life plus some information on UPF vs SPF. Adding sun protective clothing to our everyday is one of the simplest ways to stay safe. Check out this article from The Skin Cancer Foundation.
UPF vs. SPF – What’s the Difference?
SPF, or Sun Protection Factor, is a standard measurement used to rate the effectiveness of sunscreen. It measures how long it takes for sun-exposed skin to redden. SPF only measures UVB rays — which means most sunscreens only protect you from UVB rays unless they specifically state that they offer broad-spectrum protection.
UPF, or Ultraviolet Protection Factor, is the standard measurement used to rate the effectiveness of sun-protective fabrics. The rating indicates the degree to which the sun’s UV rays penetrate a piece of fabric and reach your skin. UPF ratings range from 15 to 50 and only apply to products that claim they are sun protective.
Fabric that is rated below UPF 15 is not considered sun protective. Just as you do with sunscreen, you want to look for a higher UPF rating. Aim for a UPF rating of 50+. That means only 1/50th of the sun’s UV rays will pass through. UPF 50+ fabric will significantly reduce your skin’s UV radiation exposure because only 2% of UV rays will get through. Also, UPF takes into account both UVA and UVB rays (while SPF only takes UVB rays into account unless it indicates “full-spectrum”).
The Del Ray Tie Waist Maxi Dress is super fun with flip flops as a cover up or dressed up with sandals for shopping or dinner out. I love the different shades of blue. I’m wearing a size XS.
The Del Ray Hooded Cover Up is timeless in blue and white stripes. The tassels are super fun an the coordinating floral print within the hood give it a pop! Wear it as a dress or a cover up…either way, it’s just darling and comes in an array of other prints. I’m wearing a size SM.
The Tulum Sleeveless Ruffle Dress is fun, flirty and comfortable. You’ll be ready to go from brunch to beach in this number. It comes in several colors but the new EYELET Dress in navy, pink and white is so pretty! I’m wearing a size SM.
Cabana Life has two new JUST RELEASED Collections! The EYELET Collection (in light blue, white and pink) and the NAUTICAL Collection (in red, white and blue) that are SO CUTE! These collections are NOT included in the 4th of July Sale.
