Good morning friends! I hope your week has been fantastic!
Well…the heat wave has officially hit us in Dallas as August is always the hottest month of the year. It’s such a catch 22 because in the fashion world, the fall collections are rolling out and as a fashion blogger I have a responsibility to share the looks and new trends with all of you. I’m photographing fall clothes in 100 degree heat. Lordy! All in the name of fashion! But for me, it is such joy!
Today, I want to highlight an elevated t-shirt that is great for year round dressing because it is poly charmeuse in front and soft tee shirt fabric in the back. You will want this tee in all four colors because it is perfect for foundation dressing and will amp up your look with very little effort.
Foundation Dressing With The Perfect Tee
I first talked about this top in this post on Classic Wardrobe Staples but it is so good I felt it needed its own dedicated post. The Caroline Blouse by W by Worth is not only the perfect companion to your favorite blazer, but the silhouette and style is quite unique. It’s cut in a fine stretch poly charmeuse with a viscose back and features a slight gathering detail at the center front. So basically this tee shirt is business in the front and casual in the back!
If you are not familiar with viscose this fabric is made from wood pulp, making it a cellulosic fibre, like cotton or linen but to designers, a much more desirable fabric for these reasons:
- Versatile – it blends very well with other fibres
- Drapes well
- Excellent colour retention
- Highly absorbent
- Very smooth
- Does not trap body heat
- Relatively light
- Strong and robust
- Soft and comfortable
- No static build up
The Caroline blouse retails for $178 and comes in foil (silver), navy, ivory and black, sized 0-16.
HOW TO WEAR THE CAROLINE BLOUSE
We love this tee worn dressed up or down. Again, if you need to get dressed for work this is a great top with slacks or a skirt and definitely worn under any blazer. We also adore this top worn very casually with your favorite pair of jeans and a pair of booties or sneakers because it adds a touch of polish and sophistication to even the most casual look.
This top is also elegant for cocktail with a pair of palazzo pants. Adding either the ivory, black or foil color to a pair of black palazzo pants is instant, effortless glamour!
I’m wearing the Caroline Blouse with the Black Crepe Beverly Hill pant also from the W by Worth collection. This relaxed, pull-on pant is uber chic. It has an elastic waist with a grosgrain ribbon tie and a straight, cuffed leg. It’s finished with a single front pleat and back welt pockets. We love it with a pair of loafers as well as booties or sandals.
My sizing: Caroline Blouse-8 (I can really wear a size 4-8 in this top but I like it loose), Bevery Hills Pant-SM, Leather Sophia Jacket-6
