Fall Fashion Staples From JCPenney
1.) Plaid Shacket
Although I try not to cave into every trend I come across, the shacket has been a hard one to resist. It’s essentially a cross between a shirt and a jacket – and features a menswear-inspired silhouette. I love how it goes seamlessly over chunky knits or turtleneck tops while keeping me extra cozy. If you haven’t added one to your wardrobe yet, now’s the time. The neutrals in this Plaid Shacket make it a perfect addition to layer over so many things already in your closet.
This jean style is the ‘of the moment’ cool girl cut and it looks fantastic on most figures. I highly suggest these Levi’s Straight Leg Jeans that come in 10 different washes and 3 lengths. They have a mid rise and are relaxed through the hip and thigh. Straight leg jeans are super was to style with flats, booties and heels…they are my go-to for sure.
3.) Moto Jacket
It’s no surprise that the biker jacket is a tried-and-true coat staple. I love wearing mine – not just in the fall – but throughout the year. Just pair them with a basic top (or sweater), jeans, and heels and you’re all set to go. If you’re looking for a warmer version, this caramel Faux Shearling Moto Jacket will have you ready for the colder days.
4.) Puffer Coat
Puffer coats were traditionally worn more for function rather than style, but that’s changed completely in recent years. With so many renditions at your finger tips, you can quickly transform a casual outfit and make it look instantly cool. Lightweight, quilted jackets will see tons of wear through fall and I’m absolutely obsessed with this uber chic belted Puffer Jacket. It comes in black, red or white and looks like a designer piece.
5.) Combat Boots
Combat boots are just cool. Period. They offer a practical and more comfortable way to look chic. Many of these boot styles look too masculine and rugged so I love that these Liz Claiborne Combat Boots offer a more feminine vibe with their quilting and gold exposed zipper. They remind me of a pair of CC’s that are over $1200.00!!!! Do you own a pair of combat boots? It’s an add to cart kind of day ladies!
Faux Leather is EVERYWHERE and has gained in popularity over the past few years. While I do love my leather pieces, I find myself reaching for my faux leather pieces on repeat because they are so easy to maintain. Nothing elevates your style like a pop of leather and this Faux Leather Shirt is an effortless way to up your style game this fall. I love the unexpected ‘Biscotti’ color layered over winter white but it also comes in tried and true black.
7.) Sweater Dress
There really is not anything cozier and more seasonally appropriate than a good knit sweater dress paired with your favorite boots. This is one of my foolproof outfits for fall. The beauty about it though, is that while it is ridiculously comfortable and forgiving, it does not sacrifice style. The sweater dress is a core piece to have in your wardrobe and this lightweight knit Spice Sweater Dress is the perfect one to add!
8.) Cross-Body Bag
Quilted accessories and crossbody bags are both fall trends we are loving! This Quilted Cross-Body Bag is one you will reach for on the regular! It will hold all your essentials and make you look effortlessly chic on the go.
9.) Slouchy Boots
One of the newer styles this season brings is the slouch boot. I love an over-the-knee silhouette that lengthens your look instantly. This Slouch Boot is great worn with sweater dresses, on top of jeans and with mini skirts – and they never fail to impress. You can stretch them far into winter by simply adding tights. It comes in 5 gorgeous fall colors.
Cardigans always make my list of must-have pieces for both fall and winter. I’m constantly reaching for them when I want to be comfortable, running errands or grabbing dinner on a chilly evening. I look for elevated designs and unique details and I’m loving this Grey Open Front Cardigan with exaggerated sleeves and front pockets.
What’s one fall fashion staple that’s a must have for you?
