Spring is well on its way and now is the perfect time to start incorporating Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2019, Living Coral, into your wardrobe. This 2019 color trend is vital in our current climate, according to Pantone: “Symbolizing our innate need for optimism and joyful pursuits, Living Coral embodies our desire for playful expression.”
Let’s talk about how YOU can wear this playful shade.
PANTONE’S COLOR OF 2019: LIVING CORAL
Every year, Pantone (the leading authority on color) chooses its hottest color of the year. This color translates into not only fashion, beauty, and decor but also multiple industries including product, packaging, and graphic design.
Living Coral is described as “an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge”.
In the world of fashion and beauty, Living Coral’s pink-orange overtones and golden undertones look gorgeous on so many skin colors.
HOW TO WEAR PANTONE’S LIVING CORAL
So how can YOU wear this tantalizing shade? First, take a look at this picture and see how gorgeous living coral looks with aqua. Since living coral represents a color of nature, consider pairing it with your blues and greens. I’m picturing coral jeans and an aqua blouse. This blouse incorporates both stunning colors.
Early spring and colder temperatures call for wearing your coral with browns and creams, a color combo I absolutely adore. These leatherette jeans are perfect!
As the warmer weather sets in, throw on a simple white tee with your coral jeans. You could also wear your white jeans with some coral espadrilles or carry a coral handbag and put on a pop of coral lipstick. I like Charlotte Tilbury Coachella Coral.
I’m coveting this dusty coral suede moto jacket. You could put this on with your jeans and a tee and voilà…you are out the door…and a steal at only $198. This satin trench coat is also gorgeous and a chic way to wear living coral.
Don’t forget your nails…the prettiest coral shade is OPI Cajun Shrimp.
SHADES OF LIVING CORAL
There’s a coral shade that flatters most skin tones but if your complexion is very cool, opt for a pinkier version and wear it further from your face…it’s great as a pop of color in an accessory.
Coral comes in so many varying shades and you needn’t stick to the tone that Pantone designated so have fun with this color. The shades are called so many different names… melon, guava, desert rose, clay and bright orange.
Will you be trying Living Coral this year? I’ve handpicked some gorgeous coral items below so click through to check them out.
