Happy Hump Day Beauties! While we are still in the thick of winter, it is never too early to start thinking about some spring transitional pieces. In fact, we are having some beautiful weather here in Dallas lately and this pink jacquard blazer is not only a great piece to add to your closet, but it is the perfect ‘wear now’, spring transitional blazer.

This blazer was love at first sight…the color, the fit…and the PRICE!  It is only $125 which is quite amazing for the quality and gorgeousness of this jacket that I will be wearing all season long.

Plus I’m sharing tips that will instantly make you look TALLER in your clothes.

SHOP MY LOOK:

 PINK ANIMAL JACQUARD BLAZER

Add a pop of bubble gum pink as you transition from winter to spring with this double breasted animal jacquard blazer.  It has notched lapels and bold black buttons and the length is perfect to wear with skinny jeans, skirts, or flare jeans as I have it styled here.  The long sleeves and gutsy jacquard fabric make it totally appropriate to throw on during the later winter months, but it will be absolutely perfect as a spring blazer with white jeans.

FYI…this brand runs small.  For size reference I am wearing a US-6 (fits like a 2-4).

For those of you who love to wear patterns, you can also order the matching animal jacquard cropped pants.

The Vince Cut Out Booties I’m wearing are on MAJOR SALE (46% Off)!!!  They also come in Taupe.

HOW TO LOOK TALLER IN YOUR CLOTHES

TIP #1: Wear High Waisted, Flare Jeans

This style of jean adds inches to your height and is a slimming and flattering style on most body types.  High-waisted jeans instantly lengthen your frame. By faking a higher waistline, your legs look like they begin at least a few inches before they actually do. Look for an 8-10″ rise and be sure they are plain with no contrasting stitching, shredding, etc. A wide, flare leg draws attention to your bottom half, making your legs look instantly longer.  Make sure that the flare jeans do not drag on the floor as this can make you look shorter rather than taller.

TIP #2: Stick to a Monochrome Palette

Wearing a monochrome color scheme, when you contrast shades rather than colors, will help to streamline your look and give the illusion of height. A monochrome palette can be a fantastic go-to.  If you decide to mix different hues of the same colors, be sure to keep the darker tones on the lower half of your body and the lighter ones on top. This has the effect of lengthening your look and drawing the eye upward.

TIP #3: Downsize Your Handbag

Scale, scale, scale!  A giant tote can make a petite frame look even tinier. A smaller handbag, though, looks way more proportional and will make you appear to have a taller stature. Carry a handbag that is proportional to your size.  Large handbags and totes actually create ‘visual width’, tricking the eye to look left to right instead of straight up and down, where we want the eye to go.  Save the big totes for traveling.

TIP #4: Wear Pointy Toe Shoes in Your Skin Tone

Pointy, skin-colored shoes (or those that are see-through) visually extend the length of your legs without a break in color. Nude flats will do the trick, but for maximum lengthening, opt for a heel.  I just ordered these tan suede block heel pumps…they will go with everything.  I have them in the leopard calf hair and love them!

TIP #5: Maintain Perfect Posture

Standing up straight is the quickest way to add an extra inch to your height. Maintaining great posture is a great way to lengthen your stature in less than two seconds, no matter what you’re wearing or how you’re feeling. It is also essential when it comes to exuding confidence and making all of these style tips work for you.
