With Valentine’s Day just a month away, I thought it would be fun to share this outfit idea that you could wear to a romantic dinner or any daytime events. Of course, it’s also perfect for these winter months to wear now!

Although we would all love to dress in designer pieces from head to toe, it just isn’t realistic. With so many wonderful brands out there it is possible to get that designer look without the expensive price tag. I am a big advocate of mixing high end investment pieces with affordable fashion. A designer handbag, belt or luxury shoe brand instantly elevates any look. Today I’m going to be sharing some gorgeous designer pieces and look-alikes to steal in this steal vs. splurge post.

Outfit Details:

Red Suede Jacket

STEAL Jacket: This gorgeous suede jacket is by BlankNYC who in my opinion makes the most affordable suede and leather jackets out there. This cardinal red is just perfect for Valentine’s Day. It retails for $198 and would be a great all season wardrobe addition.

SPLURGE Jacket: This jacket by L’Agence is made of the highest end lambskin and the price tag reflects it at $1,225. If you are looking for a true investment piece, this one sure makes a statement.

Black Leather Jeans

STEAL Faux Leather Jeans: Coated black jeans many times look like they could be real leather. If you want the look, but don’t want to pay the price, I like these by 7 for All Mankind at $198 or this option by Frame at $240.

SPLURGE Leather Jeans: The hottest 100% leather jean on the market for several years now have been these by Frame. They continue to sell through year after year and come back each season and for good reason. Although the price tag is steep at $950, everyone who owns them loves them.

Croc Embossed Boots

STEAL Boots: Croc stamped boots just look expensive…period. These boots by Schutz are absolutely GORGEOUS ($295) and are almost identical to the splurge boots I am showing by Paris, TX which are very high end. You can see me wearing my Schutz croc stamped boots in The Top Selling Fashion Items of 2019 and Thanksgiving Day Outfit Idea. They are my favorite boot purchase to date and I highly recommend them not only because they are statement making, but they are super comfortable as well.

SPLURGE Boots: These croc embossed boots are by Paris, TX, a very high end shoe company that I absolutely love. They retail for $795 which isn’t awful but seriously, when I wear my black Schutz boots I have people ask me if they are Paris, TX.

Snake Belt

STEAL Snake Belt: Ok…how fun is this snake buckle belt for $49? It comes in three different options and the reviews are positive. Reminds me of a belt that costs over $400!

SPLURGE Snake Belt: Yes, you all know I love Gucci belts and this one with the Dionysus Buckle is certainly splurge-worthy! I always say that high end accessories will take any outfit to that next level.

Love Scarf

STEAL Love Scarf: This darling Kate Spade scarf ($58) would add a pop of ‘love’ to any Valentine’s Day outfit. Throw this scarf on with your t-shirt and jeans or tie it to your handbag. I think its a fun accessory that you can do so much with.

SPLURGE Love Scarf: This opulent Gucci Scarf is so pretty and would make a beautiful Valentine’s Day gift (hint).

Black Handbag

STEAL Handbag: The number one selling handbag on my blog has been this one by Rebecca Minkoff ($295). I feature it quite a bit because it is a great steal version of the Chanel Boy Bag. Rebecca Minkoff is known for making fabulous, sturdy, well-loved bags.

SPLURGE Handbag: A Chanel bag is a splurge! The boy bag is playful, yet chic and sophisticated. Chanel handbags appreciate in value over time so they really are an investment piece.
