5 Winter Investment Pieces

I’m all about wearing affordable fashion BUT I also believe in elevating your look by adding some key investment pieces. There are many items I could put on this list, but I’ve paired it down to 5 items that I truly believe should be part of your winter wardrobe. These particular items are in my closet and I reach for them time and time again whenever I want to look chic and polished no matter the occasion.

1.) Over The Knee Boots

Over the knee boots have been trending for a long time and they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. Stuart Weitzman makes the ‘mother load’ of OTK boots but there are many other brands to choose from. If you do not own a pair of black OTK boots, this is your PSA…invest in some. They are uber comfortable, sleek and can be dressed up or down.

2.) Designer Scarf

A scarf adds personality to any outfit and I highly recommend putting your dollars into a gorgeous designer scarf that will be in your closet for years to come. If I had to choose just one brand to wear during the colder months, hands down it would be Burberry. Wearing a Burberry Scarf will not only keep your neck warm, but wearing this iconic British brand will surely make any outfit look chic and sophisticated.

3.) Structured Designer Handbag

I like to carry a structured designer handbag (tote) during the winter months because I usually dress in layers. A tote allows room for my gloves, scarf, beanie, umbrella, etc. You do not necessarily have to spend a lot of money on a structured handbag, but you do want to find one that is sturdy, sleek and will stand the test of time. This one is beautiful as this one. This Prada is totally splurge worthy! Tory Burch also makes a beautiful sturdy one.

4.) Wool Coat

Every woman needs a beautiful wool coat during the winter months. I highly recommend investing in either a camel or black classic wool coat if you do not already own one. They are timeless, elegant and will be a forever item in your closet.

5. Black Leather Pants/Leggings

I first talked about my favorite leather leggings in this post. Leather pants are THE model-off-duty look that will NEVER go out of style. I love the look of a leather legging or leather jean. and the versatility of being able to dress them up or down. If real leather is out of your budget, opt for a black coated jean for a very similar look.

What is one investment piece you have absolutely cherished and worn on repeat all winter long?

Outfit Details:

Black Cape:

This Double Breasted Black Wool Cape by Chicwish is only $105. You can throw this on over your dressiest dress or wear casually with a sweater and jeans. It also comes in military green and another similar version in candy-apple red! I’m wearing a small.

Grey Jeans:

My jeans are by Frame and they are the coolest acid wash. The rockstar wash gives these jeans the coolest vibe and the skinny fit and ankle length make them perfect to tuck in your boots or wear with your favorite booties. I sized up one size in these to a 27.

Burberry Scarf:

There are so many beautiful options at Burberry, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Saks and you can find my exact version discounted here.

SW Over The Knee Boots:

I’ll never tire of these boots and have definitely gotten my money’s worth over the years. Here is a steal version on sale.

Celine Handbag:

I bought my Celine Phantom Handbag about 8 years ago and I still love it to this day. Check out The Real Real for gently used designer handbags.
