Today I’m sharing my home office decor that has been a huge focus for me over the past 9 months. This refreshed space is not only my creative workspace but it’s also a soothing and relaxing retreat with just the right amount of feminine touches for someone who is surrounded by a household of men!
Also, I have been fortunate to meet some lovely women in the past 2.5 years and I’m THRILLED to be partnering with 5 amazing bloggers to do a VIRTUAL SPRING HOME TOUR. I hope you will scroll to the end of this post to see the the talented women who are sharing their spring home inspiration and style. You don’t want to miss this fun experience!
Home Office Decor
Who else is is giddy for spring and warmer weather?!? Florals and pretty pastel colors are my spring-time obsessions and I like to incorporate these elements in my home decor during the season. Beautiful spring pastels were the inspiration for my home office as I am a mom of 3 boys and I never felt comfortable with pretty pinks, soft greens and bright yellows as the focus of my home decor while my boys were growing up. I would simply swap out pillows, display fresh flowers and pretty much kept my decor as neutral as possible.
For my newly refreshed office I worked with the talented Whitney Weigand Interiors and I highly recommend her if you are in the Dallas/Fort Worth/Cedar Creek Lake Area. Find WWI on Facebook or Instagram.
My new office space is my boys former playroom and it was filled with dark, heavy leather furniture, dark carpet, dim lighting, video games and toys for over 13 years. When our last son started his senior year of high school, Whitney and I began to re-imagine this space and what we would do with it. As soon as he left for college last fall, our vision started to take shape.
We knew immediately we wanted the centerpiece of this room to be a Tulip Coffee Table with a Carrera Gold Marble Top. I loved working with Eternity Modern to get my dream table. The Tulip Table is a legacy of renowned designer and architect, Eero Saarinen. It was a revolutionary table design back in the late 20th century, which now comes in many contemporary forms today. It is the perfect choice if you’re looking for a centrepiece table for a home with a distinct modern or contemporary interior design. Eternity Modern has a beautiful assortment of dining, coffee and end tables.
Surrounded by the Tulip Table, we placed four pink velvet Swivel Chairs. One of my favorite elements of this room is the Schumacher Chaing Mai Dragon Fabric (Blush) pillows that we placed on each chair as well as the window seat and my desk. This chinoiserie motif is one of Schumacher’s best loved designed and inspired by an Art Deco print.
This beautiful artwork is from a local Dallas artist who I found on Instagram. Lori Rayfield Original Art has delightful pieces available for purchase or by commission. We commissioned this piece (which my husband named ‘Princess’…his nickname for me:) with the Chain Mai Dragon fabric as inspiration. You can also find Lori on Instagram.
The four exotic prints over my desk are from Pink Lion Dog. I’m absolutely obsessed with her artwork and they are available in several sizes with so many animals/colors to choose from. We ordered size 20 x 20″ and had them framed in floating acrylic.
A sure way to keep any room looking fresh for the season is by displaying florals. I adore orchids but I just cannot keep them alive and I grew tired of spending money on fresh ones. Lakewood Succulents is a fabulous resource for florals, real or faux! Choose from living or artificial succulents, orchids, cacti, and more plus Ashley ships her artificial succulents throughout the United States. Ashley has done several faux orchid arrangements for me and you would never know that the huge succulent arrangement I have in my kitchen is faux.
