The days are long but the years sure are short! I simply adore the masterpieces our boys created as kids and as I enter the ’empty nest’ phase of life, it’s my goal to organize and start some delayed projects that, if I’m lucky, will be passed down from generation to generation. Today I’m excited to share how I’m preserving my children’s artwork with 4everBound Books. After all, these memories are too precious to belong in a drawer.
Be sure and read the entire post because 4everBound Books is giving away ONE keepsake book valued at $140 to a lucky reader! Plus, if you decide to order a 4everBound book, use Code: IGMEGAN15 or use this link for $15 off your order.
Preserving Precious Memories With 4everBound
I was first introduced to 4everBound Books by my friend Tracy S. a few years ago. Tracy and her family were making a big move from Dallas to an apartment in New York City and she shared the clever way she was preserving her children’s artwork since it would no longer fit on the walls of her new space. I made a ‘note’ that I too would be contacting 4everBound Books in the very near future.
4everBound Books
4everBound Books was created by a husband and wife team out of Tucson, AZ who along with their three children (ages 12, 24 & 27) wanted to capture the most precious memories of their family’s life together. They developed a customized process that safely and permanently binds the most meaningful items in a hardbound book and preserves them for a lifetime. What I love most about their process is that they bind the actual piece, not a digital print.
Each 4everBound book holds papers 8.5 x 11 ” and can include artwork, letters, writings and drawings. All items are artfully trimmed and folded to fit inside the book (with your permission) and they truly treat your papers like they are their own! You can read more about the story behind 4everBound here.
4everBound Books has only 5 star reviews on Facebook and Google and you can follow them on Instagram here.
My Experience With 4everBound Books
My boys created some beautiful artwork and poems during their elementary school days and I have enjoyed many of these pieces adorning the walls of our upstairs game room. Now that empty nesting is setting in, we have decided to give this room a re-fresh. Not only was an entire room dedicated to my boy’s artwork, but I had huge bins under each of their beds filled with their art and poems. Needless to say, tucking these priceless treasures away in a plastic bin is just not a long term option for me!
I pulled everything off the walls, sorted through folders and bins and organized each of my boy’s work by date. I had a little help from my curious companion, Scout.
I sent all of the items I wanted included in the book off to 4everBound. I had chosen the cover, font, add-ons, etc.
Because I had sent in so many pieces for one book, we did have to divide it in to two books titled Volume I and II. The books are shipped back in cute gift wrapping.
This is the Chronicle Book (1.5″ thick and up to 250 pages). I chose a navy cover with silver foil and Worstveld Bold font.
This cover page is an add on but gives the book a special touch.
I’ve included some of my favorite pieces so you can see how 4everBound has thoughtfully trimmed and folded the artwork to fit inside the book.
I am thrilled beyond measure with the finished books and I look forward to having these cherished keepsakes completed for each of my boys.

This is the sweetest idea! I love all of my children’s art, but it would be particularly special to preserve my oldest daughters work since she is graduating with a masters in Art History at the Chicago Institute this Spring!
Sarah- what a wonderful idea! That would be a treasure for sure!
Sarah-Beautiful idea. I have so many oh my kids’ artwork and writings from elementary school, now just in boxes. I would love to present them both with books that preserve all of it.
Hilary- this is exactly what I am doing! It is so special! Thanks for reading:)
I love this idea so much!! I have so many old letters and notes to Santa and his elves that I would love to preserve. Lots of art as well!! Thanks Megan!!
Adina- What a cute idea! The letters are the best! Thanks for reading!
Omg! Love love love this! With 3 kids also, I have lots of priceless artwork framed and unframed to relocate as we become empty nesters. What a fabulous way to help give these treasures a new home and for our kids to enjoy for years to come. I also see volumes I & II for each as they all enjoyed art. I hope to win❣️🙏🏼😃
Kristin- Thanks for reading! It is such a great ’empty nester’ project and truly special:)
Yes, finally getting caught up after this past year back and forth to Tulsa and have numerous pages of coloring pages my mother loved to color on during these past years before she passed away this past November due to Alzheimer’s and I have been trying to figure out a way to share them with my siblings and family. A book for each would be so special. 💗
I’m so sorry about the loss of your mother. This would be a very special way to honor her.
Love this! Not only for my children’s art work but for my grandson’s!
Thanks Krista! I can’t believe you have another grandson on the way! Congrats!
I love this idea! I have all the letters my father wrote to his family while being in the marines in WW2 and Korea. Do you think they could but them in a nice binder? They are really special to read and would love to pass them down to future family.
Megan, thank you for such an amazing and detailed post about our company, I can’t WAIT to make a book for your winner! To answer Amy’s question about WWII letters, we absolutely can do something very special, we just did a set of WWII books as a Christmas present. Happy to answer questions!
They totally can do this and have done other ww2 letters! Reach out to them and check out their FB page to see the others they’ve done!
Amy- how special to have these letters…I know they are so cherished! Thanks for your comment!
I have a letter written to me by one of my children and it’s signed, “your secrit of myra.” I keep it in my nightstand. That would be one of the first things I’d add.
Oh my goodness Annette…this is adorable! What a treasure! Thanks for your comment:)
Oh my goodness, I need to do this! I have a bin full of art and school work for each child, grades K-6 plus some HS art projects! What a great way to preserve precious memories!
I bet your bins are as full as mine! Thanks for your comment Carol:) Miss you!
Congratulations to Adina Smith for winning the 4everBound keepsake book!
