3.) Take Long Walks Or Exercise At Home With Your Favorite Fitness Videos

Vitamin D is good for you! Get out and take a brisk walk, but keep your distance from others. A good 6-10 feet is recommended. While you are stuck at home, you can lift weights, do yoga, or just stretch. Exercise is the number 1 stress reliever! Did you know there are free exercise videos for Amazon Prime subscribers?

if you are looking for some new active wear, I’m obsessed with Fabletics! When you join as a VIP member you can purchase 2 pair of Fabletics leggings for $24. You can’t beat this price anywhere plus retail therapy always helps!

4.) Practice Deep Breathing & Meditate for Self Care

The first order of business: Practice your breathing, something you can do literally anywhere. Many of you are now working from home. Deep breathing relaxes the shoulders and helps make you aware of tension, which is the start to relief. Changing your breathing pattern is integral to resolving neck and shoulder issues.

Breathing exercises are also a tried-and-true way to calm anxiety—something we could all use right now. Deep breathing gives us that much needed oxygen for tissue repair and healing.

Try it! Close your eyes and take a minimum of five deep, mindful inhales and exhales. Count to five on your inhale, and again on your exhale. Do this several times a day.

Meditation has been a part of my self care routine for many, many years. The coronavirus pandemic is giving many people their first taste of clinical anxiety but plenty of serious research backs up the belief that meditation can powerfully alleviate anxiety.

Here are two popular meditation apps:

1. Headspace

Headspace is the daddy of meditation apps. It’s easy to navigate and comprehensive, great for beginners thanks to a program that welcomes you to meditation instead of just throwing you into the deep end. Headspace also has workouts, and has even put out specific meditations for living during coronavirus.

2. Calm

Calm is the number two best-reviewed app in the entire health and fitness category in the iPhone app store. A subscription includes a seemingly endless number of meditations, “sleep stories” (bedtime stories for grown-ups), and nature sounds. I also love CALM when I have trouble falling asleep when traveling.

5.) Add Extra Greens To Your Diet With This Delicious Smoothie

Adding extra greens to your diet is a sure fire way to help boost your immune system, while also giving you muscle strength and providing you with antioxidants and phytochemicals which can reduce the risk of certain cancers. I love to make this super easy, very nutritious green smoothie EVERY morning.

Green Smoothie Recipe

1-2 cups fresh spinach or kale (I buy in bulk and freeze it)

 1 cup Coconut Water

 1/2 cup Almond Milk

1 Scoop Vega One Vanilla Protein Powder

1 tsp. Ground Tumeric (anti-inflammatory)

1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon

1 tsp. Chia Seeds

1 T. Almond Butter

Ice Cubes

Mix all ingredients together in a blender or Nutri Ninja (I have this one). Add more coconut water or ice cubes depending on how you like your consistency.

Although this is not on the list, adding Collagen to your diet EVERY SINGLE DAY is very important. Collagen improves hair, skin, nails, joints and ligaments, and tendon health, I add one scoop of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides to my morning coffee and another scoop to my daily water intake.
